MP3 to text — convert audio to text on your device
Drop an MP3 into the side panel and get a transcript back. Pick the fast cloud engine, or the local one that transcribes on your own machine and uploads nothing. Either way, no account is needed.
How it works
- Install the extension and open its side panel.
- Drop in a file and pick an engine — the fast cloud pass, or the on-device model that uploads nothing.
- Copy the transcript, or export it as TXT or SRT.
FAQ
- Is the MP3 uploaded anywhere?
- That depends on the engine you pick, which is the point of having two. The local engine decodes and processes the file inside your browser and uploads nothing. The Pro engine uploads the file being transcribed to the transcription service — only that file, and only for that run.
- How long can the file be?
- Long files are split into windows and transcribed in sequence, so length is bounded by patience rather than by an upload limit.
- What can I export?
- Plain text for documents, or SRT when you need timed subtitles.
