      How it works

      1. Drop an audio or video file into the box above, or choose one from your device.
      2. The speech model loads in your browser and the text appears as it is transcribed. The file is never uploaded.
      3. Copy the transcript, or download it as TXT or as SRT subtitles.

      Languages it understands

It detects the spoken language by itself. These are the ones it handles best — pick one before you start if detection guesses wrong.

      FAQ

Is it live, word by word?
No — it transcribes when you stop recording, which lets the model see whole sentences and punctuate them properly. A one-minute dictation is usually ready in seconds.
      Which microphone does it use?
Your browser’s default. Choose another in the browser’s site settings (the icon in the address bar) and press Record again.
Do I need to say “comma” and “full stop”?
No. Punctuation is added from how you speak, the way a listener would.
